I received mine today and I’m pleasantly surprised! It’s always a bit of a risk ordering an attire that’s tailored to your measurements over the internet, since you don’t have the professional tailor on location taking them. But Jameel put in a lot of effort deriving the most screen-accurate version you could find anywhere. The fit is a dozen times better than the cheap, officially-licensed jacket – as is the material and build quality. When I unpacked the jacket, I could see immediately that a professional and experienced tailor was at work. Those who followed in twitter could even see the prototyping progress with a lot of effort to getting little details such as the perforation patterns super screen-accurate. And even Picard’s production designer provided him with the color used in the production. So you won’t end up with oversaturated division colors like in many cosplay stores that can easily make a garment look like a cheap halloween costume.
This one is high-quality and absolutely suitable for use as a normal jacket. People who are not Trekkies wouldn’t even notice it’s a cosplay, but just a futuristic-looking leather jacket.
The lining is a bit too warm if you plan to use it at cons (prepare to sweat), but that comes at the benefit of being useful as an actual outdoor jacket that’ll keep you warm. The only slight criticism I would have is that I think the sleeves could be mounted a bit more in a suit style to have more elegant shoulders. But that’s criticism on an already very high level.

This was my first time ordering a custom jacket from anyone but when I saw what the team was working on and the attention to detail, I knew this was the replica I was looking for.
This was also the first time I’ve been measured by a tailor for anything which was a little nerve racking considering that if the measurements were wrong, there was no going back.
But I’m happy to report all is good and I like the fit. The command color was exactly what I expected based on the updates I saw and the fact the color information was obtained from someone involved in the television production.
As others have said, it’s probably warm for just standing around at a convention but I bought this with the intention of wearing this has a functional jacket. And that’s exactly what I got.

The jacket has a lot of small holes in the design, but they are not simple round holes. They are in the shape of a Starfleet Delta. If I’m not mistaken, the seams on the back shoulder blades are also accurately reproduced. The craftsman who made this jacket is amazing.

You are not going to find a more accurate Picard S3 jacket! All the features of the screen used jackets are present. The custom size was spot on. The workmanship is impeccable. This is really a fun jacket to own, the original design is understated enough that it fits in with street clothes. Like the originals, the dual tab zipper can be pulled up from the bottom, opening the jacket for additional freedom while sitting. I couldn’t more highly recommend this jacket.

I have seen someone wear this jacket at a recent convention. There were other manufacturers replicas of this jacket worn by people, but this one immediately stood out due it’s leather and quality. The craftsmanship is top notch. You won’t find a more screen accurate replica – the double tab zipper, the deltas on the shoulders, it all there.
